About Rochester Farms

Rochester WA Tier 3 producer since 2017. Industrial automation borrowed from Dutch tulip growers.

Rochester Farms is a Tier 3 I-502 producer/processor located in Rochester, in the Olympia-area lowlands of southwestern Washington. The company has been distributing cannabis to Washington retailers since January 2017, and the operation was built specifically around a state-of-the-art automated cultivation facility — not a converted warehouse, but a ground-up engineering project.

The founders Marshall and Richard combined their backgrounds to design the facility. The automation pipeline draws on industrial irrigation systems borrowed from the Dutch tulip industry — applied here to cannabis at scale. The result is a facility producing about 500 pounds of cannabis flower per month, which is meaningful Tier 3 output, with the automation handling the bulk of the irrigation work and freeing the team to focus on cultivation discipline and finishing.

The catalog runs flower-first with concentrates and pre-rolls from the same in-house material. Distribution reaches across the WA retail network from Seattle metro through to smaller-market dispensaries. Customers who reach for Rochester Farms tend to be flower-first shoppers who appreciate that the operator took the time to engineer the facility properly before chasing scale, and budtenders mention the brand as a reliable mid-shelf option whose consistency comes from the automation pipeline as much as the cultivation team.
